Advanced Dental Imaging
High resolution 3D CT Scans give us a 3-Dimensional understanding of our patients and enable us to more accurately diagnosis and plan for implant surgeries. In addition to servicing our own patients, we have made our advanced imaging CBCT services to the surrounding Phoenix dental community. Our Instrumentarium OP 300 Maxio machine is a dental specific CT scanner resulting in low radiation and high resolution for dental diagnosis.
Patient Comfort
Cone beam imaging is ideal for patient comfort. It offers an "open-environment" design that reduces anxiety, and images can be taken in as little as 8.5 seconds, limiting discomfort and exposure to radiation.
Our dental specific CT scanner uses 300 times less radiation that traditional medical CT scanners.
Precision Implant Placement
A key to dental implant safety and success is advanced radiography. A CT scan ensures that every possible precaution has been made to reduce the risk of involvement of the nerves in the lower jaw, and the sinuses and nose in the upper jaw. This helps to reduce chair time and the possibility of complications.
Advanced Diagnosis & Monitoring of Periodontal Disease
The 3D images created by our CT scanner allow us to identify tumors, cysts, inflammatory diseases and oral fractures that are not easily seen with traditional 2D radiography. Sequential scans can be compared to monitor for bone loss in patients suffering from progressive periodontal disease, bone recovery following periodontal and ridge regenerative procedures and bone changes on root canal treated teeth.

Additional Uses
In addition to assisting in implant planning and periodontal diagnosis, this high-resolution technology accurately detects dental caries and identifies endodontic (root canal) pathology, including potential fractures, perforations, additional canals, additional roots or other challenges. CBCT evaluation is also helpful for oral surgery, airway studies, paranasal sinus conditions and jaw bone pathology.
